When Are You Done?

When Are You Done?

Introduction

"When are you done?" This question has been on my mind a lot recently. It's a question that resonates with many aspects of life—when are you done trying, done heading your direction, done with the day, done being strong, done with your job, done with a new creation? These reflections have sparked a deeper exploration into my creative process and what it means to create for the joy of it.

The Endless Pursuit

In our fast-paced world, it's easy to feel like we must always be moving forward, always achieving the next goal. But when do we truly feel done? The truth is, the pursuit of perfection and progress can be endless. This realization has made me question the very nature of my efforts—whether in work, personal projects, or even daily tasks. It's a reminder that sometimes, it's okay to pause, reflect, and appreciate how far we've come without the constant pressure to do more.

Finding Joy in Creation

Amidst these reflections, I've found solace in sketching. Adding sketching to my routine has become a therapeutic escape from the demands of work, learning, side projects, and building my BPD (B. Page Designs) brand awareness initiatives. It's been liberating to create without any specific goal or deadline, to sketch just for the joy of it. This pure, unstructured creativity has rekindled my passion and reminded me why I fell in love with art in the first place.

Experimenting with New Tools

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with Adobe Fresco and Adobe Express. Fresco has allowed me to explore new techniques and styles in digital art, adding a fresh layer of excitement to my creative process. Meanwhile, Adobe Express has been an interesting tool for posting my work to social media, offering a seamless way to share my creations with the world. These tools have not only enhanced my art but also made the process of sharing it more enjoyable and efficient.

Conclusion

So, when are you done? Perhaps the answer lies not in completing a task or reaching a final destination but in finding joy in the journey itself. For me, creating art for the sheer pleasure of it has been a reminder that sometimes, it's okay to just be in the moment, to create, and to reflect. As I continue this journey, I hope to inspire others to find their own moments of joy and creativity.
